Running an AI review means the video leaves RecReview for as long as the review takes. This article says exactly what that involves, and stops there — we do not publish guarantees we cannot verify.
What happens when you request a review
- A compressed copy of the video is sent to an external AI service that performs the review.
- When the video has audio, it is also transcribed by an external transcription service.
- The results — findings, checks and transcript — come back and are stored in your workspace, attached to that version.
This happens only for videos you send to AI review. It is not part of playback, sharing, commenting or the client portal.
Who can see the report
- Members of the workspace, on the review page.
- Clients and identified visitors, unless the workspace turns on Hide AI Review for clients in Workspace Settings → Client portal, under Visibility.
- Anyone you hand an exported Full Report (PDF) or XML to.
The report is part of the version. Deleting the video deletes its findings, checks and transcript with it.
Keeping something out
The AI review is opt-in per upload. To keep material away from any AI processing:
- Leave AI Analysis off on the upload.
- Check that Automatic AI review is off in Workspace Settings → AI Review, or turn it off for that period.
- Do not use Generate Transcription on that video.
Note: A video with no AI review is still stored, played, shared and commented on normally. Skipping the AI costs you the report, nothing else.
