Processing happens in stages. The upload finishes first and the video becomes watchable straight away. The extra playback quality, the thumbnails and the AI review arrive after that, while you carry on working.
What the banner is telling you
The message above the progress bar names the stage:
- Uploading video… — the file is still arriving.
- Preparing analysis… — the file is being made ready for the AI review.
- AI review in progress…, then Finalizing analysis… — the review itself.
Partway through, the bar reaches the point where the video becomes watchable. From there you can open it, share it and comment on it while the bar keeps moving.
So a video sitting on one of the later messages is not broken. It is being reviewed, and it already plays.
Ready and Completed are different
A video marked Ready can still have work left to do:
- Ready while the bar is still moving — watchable now, review still coming.
- Ready with the bar finished — the video is yours to use, but the AI review produced no report.
- Completed — finished, with the AI review attached.
That is why the dashboard stops showing a loading indicator on a video you can already play.
Note: A long video takes longer to review than a short one, and a busy moment adds to the wait. A twenty-minute file that lands alongside five others will not be the quickest.
If it really is stuck
Two things happen without you asking:
- If nothing moves for a while and the video is still processing, a Processing seems stuck banner appears. Try again starts the stage over.
- RecReview picks up videos that freeze, on its own. They stay watchable throughout.
When to ask for help
Get in touch if, an hour after the upload:
- The video still will not play at all, or
- The progress bar has not moved and Try again does not resolve it.
Send the review link — see Contact support.
If the video plays but the AI report never arrived, read The AI review didn’t finish first. That is a different problem with a different answer.
