An email from RecReview isn't arriving

RecReview sends from an address ending in rec.review, and emails leave immediately. A message that has not arrived within a couple of minutes is being filtered, blocked, or sent somewhere else.

Check these first

  1. Your spam or junk folder. This is the answer most of the time. Mark the message as not spam so the next one lands properly.
  2. The exact address. A typo at sign-up sends a real email to a mailbox nobody reads. Look for a missing letter or the wrong domain.
  3. Other tabs and filters. Gmail’s Promotions and Updates tabs, Outlook’s Focused/Other split, and any rule that files mail by sender.
  4. Your company’s mail filter. A managed inbox may quarantine mail from a new sender. Ask IT to allow rec.review.

Verification emails

If you cannot sign in because the account is unverified, RecReview shows Verify your email and names the address it went to. Press Resend verification email on that screen. You get Email resent and Check your inbox. as confirmation.

The link is good for 24 hours, so last week’s email will not work. Request a fresh one.

If you signed up from a team invitation, no verification is needed. Accepting the invite already proved you own the address.

Password reset emails

On the forgot-password screen you always get the same response — If this email is registered, you will receive instructions to reset your password. — whether or not the address exists.

So silence can simply mean you typed an address that is not registered.

The reset link expires in one hour, and resetting your password signs you out everywhere else.

Warning: Never forward a reset or verification link to anyone. Whoever opens it can take over the account.

Portal codes for clients

A client signing in to the portal gets a six-digit code rather than a link. The same checks apply.

Read The portal code is invalid or expired before requesting more codes — requesting again does not do what most people assume.
