Four things actually block a sign-in. Start with the first — most problems are just a different method than the one your account was created with.
Use the method you signed up with
If you created the account with Google, Apple or Microsoft, there is no password to type. The password field will never work. Use the same button you used the first time.
If the button you expect is missing, the account was probably created another way.
For an email-and-password account, the password needs at least 8 characters, with uppercase, lowercase and numbers. A shorter one predates that rule and still works — reset it if you are unsure.
If your email is not verified
Sign-in fails and RecReview takes you to a Verify your email screen, with your address already filled in. Press Resend verification email, open the link, and you are signed in.
See An email from RecReview isn’t arriving if nothing shows up.
Accounts created from a team invitation skip verification entirely.
If you forgot your password
Use the forgot-password link and follow the email. The link is valid for one hour.
Resetting signs you out everywhere else you were logged in. That is expected, not a problem.
The confirmation message is the same whether or not the address is registered, so it is not proof your account exists. If no email arrives, you may have signed up with a different address, or with Google, Apple or Microsoft.
If your account is scheduled for deletion
Signing in shows Account scheduled for deletion, with the date everything is erased. Access stays suspended until then, but nothing is gone yet.
Click Cancel deletion to restore the account, or use the cancel link in the email we sent when the deletion was requested.
Warning: Cancelling restores your account and workspaces, but not your subscription. If you had one, subscribe again.
Requesting deletion also turns off every share link you had created. Those links do not come back on their own — share again.
Still locked out
Tell us the email address, how you normally sign in, and the exact message you see. A screenshot of the whole window is ideal. See Contact support.
We will never ask for your password.
