How your client signs in to the portal

Client portalUpdated September 2, 20262 min read

When a portal is set to Verified login, opening the link shows Sign in to the portal before any content. Use the email address the team registered for you — no password, and no RecReview account needed.

Sign in with an email code

  1. Type your address in Email and click Continue with Email.
  2. Check your inbox. The screen changes to Check your email.
  3. Type the 6 digits and click Verify. The portal opens.

The code expires in 15 minutes, as the email itself says. If it expires, or if you mistype it a few times, ask for a new one — Resend code becomes available again after a short wait.

Note: If more than one email arrived, use the most recent one.

Sign in with an account

Continue with Google — and Continue with Microsoft, where it is available — skip the code entirely. Your provider has already verified the address, so the portal opens straight away. Neither creates a RecReview subscription.

After you are in

  • You stay signed in on that browser, so the same link opens the portal directly next time — until you log out.
  • If you are a contact of more than one client, the switcher at the top of the portal moves you between them without signing in again.
  • My profile, in the avatar menu, holds your name, photo, theme, language and email preferences.

Other access modes

Not every portal asks for a code. The team decides per client:

  • Anyone with the link — the portal opens with no identification at all.
  • Ask for name and email — a short Identify yourself form appears first.

If you cannot get in

  • “No contact found for this email in this portal” means the address is not registered for that client. Ask the team to add it.
  • “Access restricted to @domain emails” means the client restricted access by email domain. Use your work address.
  • The code never arrives: check spam, then see Email not arriving.

Rather than explaining this yourself, send the client their own version: For your clients — it walks through the sign-in screen step by step.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the code last?
15 minutes — the email says so too. Once it expires, ask for a new one: Resend code becomes available again after a short wait.
Do I have to sign in every time?
No. The portal remembers that browser, so the same link opens it directly next time. Logging out ends that.
