The transcript is a searchable, clickable copy of everything said in the video, with a timestamp on every word. Use it to find a line without scrubbing, and to export captions.
Before you begin: generating a transcript uses your workspace’s AI minutes, one per minute of video. A video that already went through AI Review comes with its transcript and costs nothing more.
Generate the transcript
- Open the Transcript tab, at the top of the side panel.
- Pick the Language: Automatic (detect from speech), Português, English or Español.
- Click Generate Transcription.
- Wait a few minutes on a long video. You can close the page and keep working — the transcript is there when you come back.
Pick the language by hand when the audio mixes languages or has heavy background noise. Otherwise leave it automatic.
Using the transcript
- Click any word to move the player to that moment.
- Search transcript finds a line without scrubbing.
- Auto-scroll keeps the transcript following playback.
- Edit lets you fix names and terms the transcription got wrong; Done saves. A corrected transcript is marked as edited.
Export captions
Open the download icon on the transcript panel and choose:
- SRT — the caption format nearly every editor and platform accepts.
- VTT — for web players.
- TXT — plain text, for a script or a summary.
- JSON — the structured version, timestamps included.
Who can generate it
The video owner and workspace members always can. Identified visitors on a shared review can too, but only when Visitor transcriptions is enabled in the workspace’s client portal settings. Otherwise the panel says the owner has to do it.
